The Young Jazz+ 24 album

The Young Jazz+ 24 music album was released on various digital platforms with the support of the İKSV Young Artist Fund and Mehmet Uluğ Fund. The album features original works by six ensembles who were selected to the 31st Istanbul Jazz Festival’s Young Jazz+ programme: Zekeriya Şahiner Quartet, Blue Kiss Collective, Alân, Boba Quartet, Mojo 5 ve Zozeï.

Three plays at the 28th Istanbul Theatre Festival programme

At the 28th Istanbul Theatre Festival, the productions of three plays by young theatre artists were supported: Lynchings and Lips written and directed by Halil Babür; The Messanger, written by Pınar Akkuzu and Aslı Ekici, directed by Güray Dinçol, and Alone written by Zeynep Kaçar and directed by Ümit Erlim.

Four artists selected for the Türkiye Workshop of Paris Cité Internationale des Arts

Four artists working in the field of visual arts were offered the opportunity to spend three months each at the Turkey Workshop of Paris Cité Internationale des Arts, one of Europe’s leading art institutions. This year, Gözde Mimiko Türkkan, Yağız Özgen, Merve Tuna and Ezgi Tok participated in the programme. İKSV has been organising the Türkiye Workshop at Cité Internationale des Arts since 2009, to offer artists from different disciplines the opportunity to live and work in Paris.

New compositions commissioned by the 52nd Istanbul Music Festival

The Istanbul Music Festival commissioned two works to commemorate the centenary of the Türkiye-Greece population exchange. Composer Dimitris Skyllas’s 'Son İlahi' (a joint commission with Cappella Romana) and composer Onur Türkmen’s 'Limon Ağacı' were supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and the IKSV Young Artist Fund.

A documentary film project

The projects to be supported by the fund in 2024 include a documentary project by director Serdar Kökçeoğlu, which focuses on the life, music, and academic career of composer İlhan Usmanbaş, who received the Istanbul Music Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
