Steve McQueen paints the portrait of four determined women: Widows
Adding to the immense success of his previous films, 12 Years A Slave, Shame, and Hunger, Steve McQueen’s Widows is a heist film that is like no other. Set in Chicago, today, Widows follows four women whose husbands have died indebting them. Taking their fates in their own hands, the four widows collaborate for a robbery to finish what their husbands have started.
Widows premiered at Toronto Film Festival and was screened as the opening film of the London Film Festival. The critical and box-office success of Widows predicts Oscar nominations in several categories.
Widows stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo, and the cast includes Robert Duvall, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Brian Tyree Henry and Liam Neeson.
