A terrifying masterpiece: Hereditary at İKSV Galas

Having been called “this generation’s Exorcist,” Hereditary meets audiences for the very first time at its İKSV Gala screening. Hereditary’s gala will be realised on 5 June, Tuesday, at 21.30 at Cinemaximum City’s Nişantaşı.

Premiering at Sundance, where it received wide acclaim, Hereditary focuses on the story of the Graham Family. Even after her mysterious death, the grandmother of the family still casts a dark shadow over them, especially her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie, whom she always had an unusual fascination with. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they've inherited. Hereditary, the long awaited film of the producers of Split and The Witch, has been dubbed “the scariest film in decades” by USA Today, and “the most effective domestic horror chiller since The Conjuring” by The Hollywood Reporter.

The feature-film debut of writer/director Ari Aster, Hereditary features a cast including Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, and Ann Dowd.

The film's age limit is 15.
