Visual artist, photographer, and cultural manager Günseli Baki focuses on themes of memory/space, city/individual, and gender issues in her artistic production. In her body and gender-themed works, she investigates and tries to make visible the traces of past experiences and internalized behaviors in the construction of gender identity. Her visual and textual works on memory and space are based on long-term, research-oriented interdisciplinary projects that draw from archives. She uses photography, text, video, and collage as mediums of artistic expression.
She conducts workshops that approach walking as a medium for artistic production. She manages culture and art projects designed within a specific conceptual framework. She continues her work at the Sarı Denizaltı Art Initiative, of which she is one of the founders, and the Odeon Pergamon Culture and Art Space. She also supports independent collective culture and art spaces, such as Bağımsızlar Haritası and Varız Buradayız Initiative, as one of the volunteer coordinators.
