Evrim Kavcar is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. She completed her MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute and her proficiency in sculpture at the Sculpture Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Kavcar is one of the founding members of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mardin Artuklu University and the Nesin Art Village.
Kavcar focuses on fragile and peculiar moments of encounter with animals, plants, and various entities in her artistic practice. Since 2018, she has been collaborating with Elif Öner as the artist duo Sensitive Sounds, exploring the personal, social, and cultural dimensions of sound.
Her individual and collaborative works have been exhibited internationally, including at the 28th Istanbul Film Festival, PiST, ARTER, 17th Istanbul Biennial, Sinopale 8, Borusan Contemporary, PASAJ, KASA Gallery, the 3rd Mardin Biennial, nGbK, Galerie Nord, and the Taiwan Medical Humanities Museum. She has also participated in programmes such as the Berlin Senate Artist-in-Residence Programme and SAHA Studio.
Presently, Kavcar is the head of the Cartoon and Animation Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
