CREATIVE WORKSHOPS PROGRAMME FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

In order to increase accessibility to culture-arts events and support cultural diversity creative workshops for children and teenagers are organised at İKSV Alt Kat: Learning and Interaction Space founded by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the support of Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA). As part of the workshops launched in March 2019 children and teenagers with limited access to culture-arts from various districts of Istanbul have been provided with the opportunities to improve their creativity in various fields such as music, film, contemporary art, design, literature and dance. For the workshops collaborations are initiated with non-governmental organisation, local administration agencies and schools.

The project also aims to support art education by facilitating cooperation between artists and instructors, thus expanding its sphere of influence and increasing its sustainability. As the first step of the project conducted in collaboration with Boğaziçi University, Supporting Learning Processes of Children and Youth at Culture-Arts Workshops Seminar was held at İKSV Alt Kat: Learning and Interaction Space. At the same time, researchers from Boğaziçi University Faculty of Education and Department of Psychology research the impact of workshops on participating children and teenagers.
