A children’s library is being founded at İKSV Alt Kat: Learning and Interaction Space with the cooperation of İKSV Information and Records Centre and the support of the Istanbul Development Agency.

The local and foreign books to be included in the children’s library will be determined under the supervision of a selection committee consisting of experts in their fields. The İKSV Alt Kat Children’s Library selection committee consists of; Chief Editor of Marsık Publishing Burcu Ural Kopan, Deputy Chief Editor of Can Çocuk Mehmet Erkut, Boğaziçi University Department of Psychology faculty member Prof. Dr Feyza Çorapçı, and FMV Işık Schools Nişantaşı Campus Library experts Sevgi Bakır and Tülay Sağlam.

The children’s library will reach a collection of almost 3.000 books by March 2020 with the valuable donations of ABM Publishing House, Anadolu Kültür, Can Publishing, Doğan Egmont Publishing, Domingo Publishing House, Final Kültür Sanat Publishing, Günışığı Library, Habitus Books, Hep Kitap, Kelime Publishing, Kırmızı Kedi Publishing House, Marsık Publishing, Mavibulut Publishing, Pearson Publishing, Redhouse Kidz, SEV Publishing, Tudem Publishing Group, Türkiye İş Bank Culture Publishing and Yapı Kredi Publishing, and with the technical infrastructure support provided by Kamref Technology Inc.

İKSV Alt Kat: Learning and Interaction Space regularly organises reading activities. Reading activities aim to help children discover books in the library, enrich their imagination, and provide them with the opportunity to meet art books and different disciplines of art.

The Children’s Library is open to the public every Friday from 10.00 – 14.00, excluding public holidays. Visitors who want to come on Fridays may use the library by either sending an e-mail to altkat@iksv.org or informing the team at İKSV Alt Kat by calling +90 212 334 07 04. To use the library on other days or hours, a reservation has to be made through e-mailing bilgibelgemerkezi@iksv.org.
