Regaip Minareci has been granted the 2023 Talât Sait Halman Translation Award for his exceptional ability to convey the striking and experimental structure of Jenny Erpenbeck’s novel Kairos into Turkish.

Regaip Minareci was born in Istanbul in 1955. After completing his secondary education in Munich, he studied electronic engineering at the Technical University of Munich. He began his professional career as a translator in 1977 in Hürriyet Group. Over the years, he held administrative roles at various publishing organisations, serving as editor, managing editor, publishing director, and publishing coordinator. A prolific translator of numerous classical and contemporary works from German into Turkish, Minareci is also a recipient of the Austrian State Prize for Literary Translation.
