Tiyatro BeReZe was founded in 2006 by Firuze Engin, Elif Temuçin, and Erkan Uyanıksoy, who met at the Theatre Department of the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography at Ankara University. The group staged its first performance on 20th March 2008, on World Children's and Youth Theatre Day. Since then, BeReZe has continuously worked to develop its productions. Between 2008 and 2019, BeReZe staged 13 plays in various styles, including storytelling, object theatre, clowning, buffoonery, and dance theatre, aimed at different age groups. The group performed these works not only in Türkiye but also abroad, in countries such as Germany, France, Denmark, Brazil, Cuba, and Macedonia. BeReZe was a guest at over 40 theatre festivals and collaborated on joint projects in Denmark, France, and Germany.
In 2011, Tiyatro BeReZe was honoured with the Innovative Theatre Award at the 12th Direklerarası Audience Awards. In 2016, for their performance in Macbeth / A Two-Person Nightmare, Erkan Uyanıksoy was nominated for Best Male Actor at the Afife Theatre Awards, while Lucile Larour and Patricia Ulbricht were nominated for Best Set Design for their work on the same production.
