The Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theatre Encouragement Award in 2023 was presented to Atta Festival and Mordem Sanat, which will carry out activities in the earthquake-affected regions.

Atta Festival

Atta Festival is Türkiye’s first and only international art festival for babies and children. It is held annually in Istanbul around World Children’s Rights Day. In addition to the festival, Atta produces high-quality children’s theatre performances through international collaborations and stages them in various cities across Türkiye throughout the year.

Mordem Sanat

Mordem Sanat, under the Creative Force Programme of the Swedish Institute, organises workshops in collaboration with Kadir Has University (Istanbul), K2 Urla Breathing Space (Izmir), and Unga Klara (Stockholm), within the scope of the project titled "ACT - Artistic Freedom and the Perspective of Children and Youth in the Field of Art in Türkiye." Founded collectively in 2017 by artists working in various art fields in Diyarbakır, Mordem Sanat and the Ecological Life Association organise exhibitions, performances, panels, seminars, international solo festivals, film festivals, and concerts in order to introduce, integrate and create a collective memory of different cultural art disciplines.
