Born in Izmir, Ilgın Top started her violin education with Irina Nikotina at Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Music and Ballet Primary School and continued with Reyyan Yücelen Başaran at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory High School.
She completed her undergraduate education at Conservatorium Maastricht in Boris Belkin's class with full marks and honors. He won first prize in the Arthur Grumiaux Violin Competition and the 2nd International Suna Kan Violin Competition, second prize in the Pantcho Vladigerov Violin and Piano Competition for Young Musicians and the "Best Interpreter" prize. She gave concerts with ensembles such as Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Izmir State Symphony Orchestra, Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra, Hacettepe Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia and collaborated with conductors such as Rengim Gökmen, Burak Tüzün, Yuri Ilynov, Maximino Zumalave.
Ilgın Top pursues her master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover with Prof. Krzystof Wegrzyn.
