The members of Altıdan Sonra Tiyatro came together at Istanbul Technical University where they started their theatre journey. Drawing from the tradition of university theatre, they gradually evolved into a professional theatre company. Founded in 1999, Altıdan Sonra Tiyatro favors original scripts and enjoys exploring new forms of performance, while critically engaging with the present and passing it on to the future. In its 10th year, the group opened the Kumbaracı50 stage on Kumbaracı Yokuşu in Beyoğlu, contributing an innovative venue to the city’s theatre scene. Designed in November 2009 as a production and performance space in the “anywhere is a stage” concept, Kumbaracı50 has hosted many theatre companies and performance artists. Over the course of twenty years, Altıdan Sonra Tiyatro has staged 36 plays and received a total of 49 awards in various categories from different institutions and organisations. The company consists of 10 founding members and a team of approximately 40 people.
