
Since its establishment in 1942, the Eczacıbaşı Group has sought to serve its community through the establishment and sponsorship of non-profit institutions involved in culture and the arts, education, scientific research, public policy and sports.
The Eczacıbaşı Group's association with the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts dates back to the Foundation's establishment, on the initiative of Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı, more than 40 years ago. Over this period, the Group helped to create widespread appreciation in Turkey of classical music through its support of the Istanbul Festival and, over the last 10 years, as Festival Sponsor of its successor, the Istanbul Music Festival.
Starting in 2006, the Eczacıbaşı Group has taken on a new and expanded role as the Leading Sponsor of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. As Leading Sponsor, the Eczacıbaşı Group contributes to the success of the Istanbul Biennial, Design Biennial, and the Film, Theater, and Jazz Festivals as well as the Music Festival, thus broadening its support of these cultural events and its platform for communicating with art lovers.
In addition to supporting the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the Eczacıbaşı Group is a founder and principal sponsor of the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art and the Izmir Foundation for Culture.
